Early Morning Pottstown Fire Sends 5 To Hospital, Officials Say

Multiple residents are being treated for injuries and smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in Pottstown on Thursday, May 30.

First responders were called to the Robert P. Smith Towers, 501 High Street, just after 6 a.m., according to borough officials. 

They arrived to find a blaze on the fifth floor and began "rescue and fire suppression efforts," authorities said. 

The state police and Pottstown borough fire marshals are investigating the cause.
